  3. Quils and their acceptable-ness

    That is fine yes
  4. The first sword should be fine. I say "Should" because it still (as any weapon does) needs to be checked for safety by our rules team. The second weapon looks like a "Heros Edge" Brand weapon, they do not meet safety requirements.
  5. My first homemade boffer and questions

John I understand your frustration. I think part of the problem your having is the term boffer is generally used for the more cloth covered weapons you are seeing. At KoN we have a very high aesthetic value and do not allow those. A general rule of thumb is if it does does not appear to look like a real weapon, it will fly. On what MK said Re Dag/boffer style weapons for NPC. We are moving away from this being permissible and I highly advise against it.
  6. Medieval utility belt

    Those are both fine

  8. Back at it again (hope i'm not annoying) more questions

And if not that sword, this?
  9. Hey guys! I'm back again with more questions and I hope I don't annoy. So, I think I may have a sword that would work, and I need to know if it's legal for KoN, and if it's not, I need help finding something similar Here it is!
  10. Quils and their acceptable-ness

I want to get some feather quils for my character to write with, would these be acceptable to use? www.wish.com/share/46806tzmwj
  11. My first homemade boffer and questions

That website also has lots of things that wouldn't be appropriate for our larp (like live steel and flintlock firearms). For NPCing we have a pile of weapons for people to use and (unless this has changed) dag style weapons are acceptable for NPCing only. For a PC only latex weapons are acceptable, and even then they must adhere to the guidelines for weapon safety. If the cost of a weapon is a financial burden right now, I'd suggest NPCing a few events and saving towards getting what you want and will pass (for aesthetics and safety). You can get an idea of what kinds of weapons appeal to you and spread the hit to your wallet over a few months.
  12. My first homemade boffer and questions

so if your looking for cheap check out dark knight armory. they got a large selection of weapons http://www.darkknightarmoury.com/c-89-larp-swords.aspx?ob=5&flt=1&pagenum=1
  13. Medieval utility belt

Hello! i have found a medieval style utility belt that i think may be within the KoN rules. Belt 1 if that belt does not work there is one that is even more stylized for larp Belt 2 If this is not within the rules, please let me know!
  14. New Players with Questions

Hello! You can direct your questions my way.
  15. Hello all! So I apologize if this post is in the wrong spot or if I ask obvious questions, but I was unsure where to get details for specifics on certain things. Me and 2 of my friends will be coming to Novitas for the first time this weekend (finally) and we've been trying to work out how we will do things. We are seeking to NPC the entire weekend, but have some questions. It's mostly basic stuff, but we'd appreciate some help regardless! Mostly regarding food, cabins, shifts, etc. I appreciate any help I can get!
  16. My first homemade boffer and questions

It was on one of the websites on the list of acceptable sites, this is very frustrating, i'm just looking for something I can afford
  17. New friends?

Awesome! I'm excited to get to know you all! Sorry for the delayed reply, I had my last event with my current larp this past weekend. I wanted to have all my focus there. Now, I'm going to start learning all I can about your world. :) I'll definitely shoot any questions your way. Thank you for the warm welcome! ~Katherine
  18. My first homemade boffer and questions

That looks like a Dag style weapon, which I'm 99% sure isn't acceptable for PCing with at KoN.
  19. My first homemade boffer and questions

Unfortunately, I can not link you to a tutorial. What I will suggest is you search for the group on Facebook "plastidip artists" the method many of them use will be acceptable.
  20. My first homemade boffer and questions

Yeah, i figured that would be the case, i looked at the vendor list, would the following be acceptable? it's the cheapest i could find of what i'm looking for Halfling boffer
  21. My first homemade boffer and questions

Honestly, unless you have all the materials already, making a weapon does not come out much cheaper than buying a cheaper one. When you get into making a larger amount the cost per weapon drops. I highly suggest just saving and buying a cheaper weapon from a reputable manufacturer. Or seeing if anyone wants to sell a used weapon.
  22. My first homemade boffer and questions

Try Knighthawk Armory. Their Eagle Flex weapons are on sale (I think they're doing a clearance thing with them) for a VERY reasonable price. They do free shipping on orders of $50 or more (excepting very long weapons, like staves or polearms) and are domestic, so you're much more likely to actually receive your order in a reasonable amount of time.
  23. Latex Weapon Vendors

Is this boffer legal? Just wanted to make sure before I go and buy anything www.strongblade.com/prod/sbff-boff-halfling.html
  24. My first homemade boffer and questions

I do plan to npc the standard 2 shifts, but I have already been set in a character concept for some time, and have been building it as I read the worldbook more and more. Unless, that is, i am unable to find a party to adventure with. As for the weapons, i'm on a tight budget, so as of now I can't afford much of what's out there. If at all possible, could you direct me to a boffer tutorial that would be legal within the KoN rules? Thank you for your help!
  25. My first homemade boffer and questions

Hello, I'm Dustan, the Props and Atmosphere Marshal. The video will not make a legal weapon, aesthetically speaking, in our game. The link you provided, aesthetically they are just fine. Safety wise, it depends on the manufacturer of the weapon. I suggest looking for similar weapons from a store that would not have to ship over seas. Also, if you are planning to NPC your first event, which is generally what we recommend as it allows you to get a handle on the rules and familiarize yourself with the setting before committing to a character concept, then do not worry about a weapon. We have weapons to use for NPC purposes.
