With gusto Nalowen plops down on the stump next to the fire. She pulls her shoes and socks off and place them hopefully at just the right distance from the fire. They were wet, not yet soaking so she hoped they would dry before, anything catostrophic happened. She hangs her head and looks at her feet. Chapped from the cold months, maybe next year she would take that merchants deal on the 'perfect balm for what ever ails you' , it couldn't hurt... could it?

Though the ground is packed around the inn from its traffic she manages to wiggle her toes into a bit of dirt and soot. She can feel every root , small and large, the growth of fungi down the way, the movement of the earth as the winter thaws and the green starts to replace the muted colors of the colder months. Her expression grows warm, and she cranes her neck and shoulders to the sky and stays, eyes closed as if she were in the arms of a loved one.

She brushes against a root, disconnected from its sun giver, it sings a soft song before flittering away leaving only the shell of itself. "goodbye.... and thank you."

After a brief moment of silence and stillness she stretches out her arms and curls each finger into a small fist before finally finding rest, watching the fire, she listens to the songs of the earth happily.

Narene wanders into town, looking tired and worn from travel. Seeing Nalowen he smiles and approaches the fire sits down beside it and nods to her before taking in the warmth himself.

A pair of sharp blue eyes pick up the distant figures of two elves sitting by a fire. A pair of pointed ears pick out the song of a bird mingled with tree limbs humming with drizzling rain.

As she steadily gazes on through the dampness, the shadow elf senses Nalowen's contentment-strange and unknown to Thaerion. She notices Narene's heavy shoulders-full of emotion as they hold the weight of age, experience and wisdom. In the background, she vaguely picks up the general bustle of all else near the Inn. Thaerion looks on with distant longing...but only fleetingly. She turns her back on the whole scene as a breeze reminds her of what's to come, what she is.

The drizzle gives way to fleeting sunlight and although it is not warm, it is welcomed. As Thaerion faces the light to enjoy it, it is covered with a mask of grey clouds and raindrops splatter down onto the elf's upturned face. She squints her eyes closed and blinks the water way. Expected. She reflects on these thoughts as she breathes deep and senses a warmth of spring mingling with the dead cold air of winter. Spring is coming. Spring brings changes.

She looks back to the distant fire and smiles slightly...Maybe one day. The mark burns, she winces. Maybe.

She grins at Narene and picks her feet from the dirt. Rubbing debris off her soles and turns to face her friend. "It's nice to see you Narene. Are you well? " She turns her attention now to her left foot, picking at a splinter with diligence. "Are there any problems with our- family and friends?"

"Very well thank you, though a bit weary from the road. I haven't traveled this much during the winter in at least 50 years, back and forth to the Great Forest twice! But the reasons were well worth it. As to your other question I do know Riona is well, when we parted Sidhan was his usual self, for most of the others I have not seen them sense the Mid winter gathering or shortly there after. But Riona as not mentioned any ill news received from the trees, so I do not expect to find anything amiss."
