Rag Food 2012

Recommended Posts

I am finalizing the menu plan so now is the time to tell me about food allergies. I want the definitive list here, so even if you and I have talked about it before, please post here. Thanks.

A recap for vets and info for newbies:

You are on your own for breakfast, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. The Barn offers breakfast and coffee every morning. They also offer snack food and ice cream from just after breakfast to just after dinner, I think. The camp store is open every day and has a good selection of food. And you can always bring what you want with you.

We will provide plates, napkins and utensils, and some red cups for guests. Please bring your own drinking vessel.

Lunch every day is hot dogs with ketchup, mustard & relish.

The dinner menu is as follows:

Saturday - eat out

Sunday - steak with mac salad & fresh tomato and cucumber salad

Monday - Symeon's chicken with green beans & rice

Tuesday - Leon's pulled pork with salt potatoes, baked beans & corn on the cob (Sorry Jordan. I like beans. I figure you will avoid them. That OK?)

Wednesday - Teriyaki chicken with green beans & rice

Thursday - Korean beef with broccoli & rice

Friday - peanut butter pork with broccoli & rice

Saturday - chicken fajitas

As Dan mentioned previously, I'll be buying meat, Sunday's meal and some supplies here, then I'll take a couple people with me to shop for the rest on Monday.

Questions? Things I missed?

I think it's not a huge hassle for us to keep a cooler full of soda if that's something we want to have available in camp.

EDIT: on the topic of soda/other drinks. I am bringing my Igloo cooler again should I get the powdered gatorade (i can get a couple huge containers at sams for cheap)?

Also I has sams card if there is a club near Coopers lake that can be used to get stuffs on monday!

Saturday - chicken fajitas

I need to re-order this list of menu items so the Succubi have ample time to prep for the party Thursday. Leon, can you make your pork BBQ on Thursday? And I'll just take care of sides, or another capable person can. I'll move some other things around so we don't have to eat the same kind of meat two days in a row. Any concerns?

My pork is simple to make, very little work...just a lot of cook time for the meat (overnight) so whatever day you want me to make...I make =)

Im gluten intolerant but everything sound like its safe! So long as I can read the bottles any sauce comes in I can be sure! :)

You'll have to avoid the mac salad, tortillas and all the rolls, otherwise I think we'll be okay. Of course we can check the labels on any of the pre-made sauces.

Sounds good to me! I'll miss your Mac salad, it was really yummy last year :)

I may bring some if my own bread and rolls, so no worries there :)

Umm I'm not really sure, but I've been having stomach issues for several years and my mom found out this summer she was allergic to wheat, and suggested I try a gluten free diet to see if it helped my stomach issues. This past fall I tried it and about a week after I did that my stomach issues were basically gone. :)
