Oh goodness, I think I'm actually going to write one of these... :P

The Good:

- Putting my PC garb on, completely, for the very first time. I was SO excited and it was better that I was complimented as well.

- The first RP I did with anyone?

"Your eyes are really dark"

"... Your hat is really dark.. oh shit...But I like it!! It's really nice!" As I try to recover with a smile so as to not make enemies.

- Getting intimidated as Shadku tells me that I contain darkness and that I should be afraid of myself. Arbor was so intimidated she prayed to gods that she didn't even follow and did her best to avoid him at all costs.

- Eavesdropping into a certain conversation Eliana had with Blagar. I felt invisible but it was cool that no one cared that I heard that bit of information.

- Participating in the 100 Orc fight. It was the first time (And I think only time) my blade touched anything.

- Talking with other noobs, especially Erroth, Krod and Richard who conversed with me the most. My character didn't do much of talking but definitely enjoyed listening to everyone's stories.

- Killing a certain pair of NPCs with Krod... I don't know about you but that wife sure was ugly.

- Learning more about my characters mindset and how she works. Also realizing that she hates names and would rather just call people names like bard man, scar face and merchant girl.

- Arbor met a 'shadowman.' It's a huge deal to her thanks to her background.

- Although I couldn't be as mischievous as I was supposed to be I did do some horribly-bored-Arbor-mischief. Sorry I left you with Narene Errost!

- Just being a PC in general was great, it was nice being on 'the other side'

Cool NPC stuff:

- Oh hey? I'm a buzzer twice in a row? Love it! Let's do some crazy things like purposefully fall into a pit and yell and scream that I lost my sister to stupid trolls.

- Being an interpreter for some crazy snow goblins. I was a horrible interpreter but hey.. I don't even know what kind of sign language that even was.

- Getting lost with the Playboys as we went on a two hour long adventure in the woods to find Pinedale.. At least it felt like it was that long.

- Taking Joanna out on some of her first plots, she's a great RPer!

- I was tired as all hell and didn't feel great (I still didn't feel good after that allergic reaction I had friday night) but I still tried to NPC as best as I could under the conditions. I'm proud that I didn't wuss out.

The Suck:

- I sat in the inn so long my ass hurt.

- I couldn't play my character to a hilt because I didn't want to die.. Boredom + Arbor = Horrible mischievous dark faekin fun. And it also equals quite a quick death when no one knows who you really are.

- Having my face blow up friday night and not knowing why I was reacting so badly to whatever it was.

- That the event ended... of course! hahaha!

Atticus didn't do anything related to it, but Atticus is pretty sure that Avatars are a myth.

Yep. Just about. It was shortly after convergence when we left and I found out from Brian (Terridan) that it was close on 2:30 when we got back.

It was still a fun trek though. I'd certainly walked trails I've never seen before.

PC:

Shift 1:

- Arrive pre-gimped from work, but decide to head out on things that look like low level plots anyway because... low level, and no more Shen, and I gotta make my coppers somehow. Tent is not set up. Sad.

- Pet Ooozzze plot... bet they weren't expecting Grog and the "Command Nature." Simple situation... Grog takes all the loot.

- I think we ran into the same ooze an hour later down at the barn... landed some really good hits in on a bog lurker who was stymied by my shield when he closed the distance beaters a blazing... Grog takes all the loot.

- Got a 4 point magic item just by sitting around the inn and pointing out to someone a newer player was trying to sell it to that it wasn't actualy that laughable an item for lower level characters... so at least I got something that night.

- Turn in at 1:30am before anticipated horde of undead that caps off the night, because gimpy and mass combat is a bad combo. Sleep at Odds because... no tent.

Shift 4:

- FUCKING WRAITH. Wake up from post NPC nap. Get dressed and wind over to logistics for my mug that I left behind when I ended 3rd shift, see dudes in field on way back but decide not to meta, so come back into play as I pass the tent I'm sleeping in. They follow, start a conversation. Get uneasy... walk faster. "4 ACID! 4 ACID! 4 ACID! WRAITH! REAP HER!!!" Fuck my night. dry.gif

- Eat Two Grilled Cheese. Buy one for Elaina because, she revived me AGAIN.

- Go to bed at 11:30, because fuck this shift. At least I got grilled cheese. Also the tent was niiiiice even in the rain.

NPC:

- Declare non/low combat because... still gimpy!!!

- Paint up a Molly Dryad. I really enjoy doing makeup.

- Picean girl has an "Upriver Problem." I was afraid the Snow Goblins were going to steal the playboys off us, but instead they were also going to the covered bridge. Serendipity!!!

- Old Lady Druid Makeup was fun, being all cantankerous was also super fun... GoST's personal plot running up on them during the plot was superfun.

- Senile Old Lady Beggar got the serious cold shoulder from most of Pinedale. Ya'll are dicks, with exceptions that know exactly who you are. Thanks for the donations nice people.

- Adam was the strangest hook ever for our graverobber plot, playing up the crazy grandad thing... and came in for the win making sure a low level character got the ring I was carrying that everyone missed while looting me because it was under the sword... while Grog was taking all the loot, AGAIN.

- Flower picker bandit girls. laugh.gif I almost dropped Eliana florentining her ankles below her armor with mini-beaters I picked out of the grass while pretending to get flowers. It was epic... but the better part was when Balder got confused and wasted a Heal Mortal on me and I started hitting him in the ankles for 3's while still sitting in the grass. (I knew there was no playing it off and as soon as Eliana saw I was up I was going to be down again, so why not get in some hits?)

- The "hungry young ladies not opposed to stealing if the opportunity presents itself" didn't get to steal anything, but the stories were nice!!! And we got people to buy us food and ale.

I had a much better time as an NPC than a PC this month... I really must learn grounding and start to carry a scroll of revive because all this dying and loosing my spark is getting out of hand. tongue.gif

Yup... I did have a pretty good time as an NPC, and on first shift, like I said.

I'm just getting tired of getting dead-dead and spark stole all the time. Ask Eliana... I'm like a frigging death magnet.

Marisa, when I've been in that position, I've looked at how I could play different, amend my character choices, etc. because if its not fun, we have control over how we react.

I've edited this a zillion times and I can't get it right, but all it comes down to is that I'm doing my best, and I wasn't remotely butthurt about being dropped, yet again, and I actualy wrote in my post that I have things I need to change about how I'm playing, my posts were full of smileys and toung emotes, and still I have people on my case now on the boards who ARE making me buthurt, not over dying but because I'm feeling lectured and looked down on for having dared to admit I suck at this and need to make changes, and instead treated like a child whining they were treated unfairly, so if you could please STOP, and re-read my post, and where it specifically says I have plans to learn new spells and get new equipment to fix this, that'd be nice. Thanks.

I would have expected no different, after all, you had the Command Magic Spell.

But everything is funnier in three dude. Rule of three... without that one I wouldn't have had three: "Grog takes all the loot."

-Helping Baevynn complete her Medium plot. Easily one of the most rewarding plots I've been on. The RP was the best I've had so far.

-Getting back hacked by the Bandit Queen. Having her limb me. Stealing my sword. Leylines. An epic speed bump to an epic ending.

-Rescuing three separate slaves from their masters.

-Epic Undead fight off the path. It was so dark that I walked off into the bushes and came back out making heavy breaths and moans then killing two undead in the back.

-Killing a Snow Goblin who made his servant attack me only to escort his companion and their servant another mile or two. Only to find out that the dead Snow Goblin had all the loot. EPIC LAWLZ.

-Over all, great event!

-Mentally crossing the bridge to become my new Snow Goblin PC.

+Suggesting to Ambrose that Pinedale needs a song while we were both intoxicated. Laughing my ass off as he invented one, right on the spot.

I have yet to bog lurk... but it does seem like it would be superfun to be all hidden like that and just gank people.

It's fun. Six points of body and monstrous means you can get in range of people and go to town on them. That and if you're stealthy, you'll almost always get the jump on them, even during the day. Unless it's Zach, Bones, or another experienced fighter with inhuman spatial awareness. Also, if you use dissipate right it can be super-effective from what people tell me. I probably had a few chances to use it with all the rain but I didn't when I should have.

It really sounds like fun. Getting the drop on people is my best chance in a fight. The most effective I've ever been in combat is when they don't see me, think I'm a non-combatant flower gathering hook, or are busy beating on someone else. Bog lurking sounds like a real hoot for those reasons. Also they use the hell out of my favorite NPCing tactic... hide till they go past and fuck em in the back!

Well, generally, when you're an NPC you're outnumbered, so running at them from behind when they have no idea that you're there and getting the drop on them tends to reap the best results. That or if you have reliable range you just harass them and hit and run. Or if you get a really stacked NPC you just roll into them and fight, but you'll probably get taken down pretty quick unless you're very good like a bunch of the veteran Novitas players.

And the wraith sounds fun though I'm not entirely sure what it does.

Wraiths are nasty undead that are pretty much shadow and hate. They can only be harmed by specific damage types, can pass through buildings, and have attacks that pass through armor and magic armor (every attack has the Pierce ability). For the first 3 years they were THE nightmare monster.
