coat of plates party

Recommended Posts

I now have 4 metal cutting blades a good file and 16 sq ft of 16 gauge steel for my coat of plates project! I know a few people are trying to make them too. I have the tools and the space so if anyone wants contact me and we can get our smithy on! (I live in Schenectady btw)

Some time next week like thursday or friday or saturday also I have enough steel for 2 CoP (assuming 6' average build) so I can sell one to whomever likes heavy steel, I have a basic pattern as well I'm happy to share it fits me well and allows for full range of motion! I don't have rivets yet or a good drill bit, I would be inclined to cut the price of the steel in exchange for rivets

I've got a punch that should pop holes in your 16g easy, I'll bring it. Rivets can be as easy as nails. I'll grab my boltcutter and some hammers too.

How's the 21st or 22nd?

If anyone else wants to learn how to pound steel rivets (vs two-piece rivets from tandy), you should try to make an appearance.

Ditto for the basics of metal cutting and shaping.
