It may be as simple as putting a hinge on your door to put the lock through (even if you only use the hoop end to actually put the lock through). As long as you remove the hinge between events, I don't think there would be much of an issue. As long as the lock in on the hoop - it's locked? Remove it completely when it's unlocked?
