pandapuffz 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2014 So I have some beautiful brooches from Al that I just got to wear this weekend. They were great, but are so pointy it's a little dangerous at times. I was wondering if any of you put anything on the edges of your pins to not catch on them? I like the point for going through fabric easily so I'd prefer not to dull them, but may have to because I don't want to end up seriously pricking myself. Thanks! hivemind 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2014 Cut off pencil erasers and stick them on the pin points.
Huntress 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2014 Or use those clear, rubbery earring backs. Those might stand out a bit less.
John Spencer 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2014 That or some weapon foam if you have that laying around like I always do! XD
Julie 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2014 You are wise to be careful... I totally stabbed through a big chunk of my thumb at Father Christmas, and then decided I probably needed a tetanus shot! It was in the act of putting it through my dress that I went further than intended, though, so I am not sure that a back end stopper will protect you from that. Dulling it might be a good idea - I haven't dulled mine yet though.
Huntress 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2014 If you are only using them in wool, they should still work ok if you dull them a bit. You can wiggle them through the weave.
