The armor and spell changes were handed out at FF. What else do you want? tongue.gif

A rulebook put where new players, or those not in attendance, can find it?

Perhaps the full changes to Tinkering/Trapsmith? Or Alchemy?

I, personally, am satisfied with the handout to a degree. It's got the bare bones to get me ready for next event, but still things left unsaid in it.

We still haven't bolted down the tinkering stuff beyond meeting notes yet. There's plans for a rulebook in April, but I wouldn't expect a list of crafting changes too far before then. April will be a month of easing into the spell and armor alterations.

If new players need specific info, I'd advise contacting someone on Rules regarding specific things that need to be addressed. I can't imagine trapsmithing would be advantageous for a newbie to know unless they were a bonafied trap-maker. The parts about game-calls, player safety, and what to expect your first game should be the same as the 3.0 book.

Do Wands power points last a game day? event? or just until the Power points run out??

For example if I have a wand that has 20 power points worth of stuff. It can cast whatever spell x amount of times. Does it refresh at the beginning of game day. Or once I run out, it runs out.

Wands are consumable.

if you have a wand with 20 power points and it casts heal mortal, it will only EVER cast heal mortal six times.

that could be six times in quick succession "omfg my party is bleeding out!"
or it could be slower, once a year or something. whatever.

Wow..see this is the type of shit that pisses people off.

You seem to have a large misunderstanding as to how much time the Rules team has put into this book already. Whole Saturdays given up for meetings, Hours of our free time given up to writing and editing.

We made a lot of changes to improve this game, which means going back and editing A LOT of old rules and text. Are we getting closer? yes. But until we are ready to hand out more of the changes, people need to be calm and not come at us sounding like an asshole with a list of demands.

Furthermore, do not expect a printed and bound rulebook to be forthcoming at all. The rules, as they are now formatted, do not make any sense to put in a book. Maybe we'll put them into a small, Adventurer's Compendium-type book, but if I had to guess, I'd say that the 4.0 rules will not take up thirty pages. This will 100% likely be released as a dowloadbla PDF, and you can print them yourselves.

There is a World Book forthcoming, but I would not venture to even estimate a date for that. It's a huge project.

Do you guys still need help distilling/editing/whatever? I'd be happy to assist, but I haven't heard anything on this in a while (I was helping edit). PUT ME TO WORK! smile.gif

I know it's kind of spitting in the wind here, but what about making the World book into an expandable binder format? Where each world section (or maybe just all the flavor and world setting info) is in one packet, and Rules in a separate packet. That way, appendices and new rule editions would just be swapped out. The initial cost would be higher, but addendums would be cheaper, and you could keep it forever.

Rick, take a breather.

I have a pretty good idea about how much time has gone into it. I also know that it's getting close to game time when these rules are due to go into full effect. My PC might not have Tinkering, but I know there are those out there with it. I'm petty sure they might want to know more details before the day of game.

I'm sorry if you took it to be assholish, it was not my intent. Just calm down before jumping down someone's throat. Dan already answered the question.

We've covered this already.

To summarize, for those who didn't read it the first time: Please ask nicely, or people get pissed off, because we're working flat out to make your game happen.

I wish that post didn't have my name in it, because as it's written it looks like I said the quote (I didn't!). lol

Oh well... in the meantime:

You'll find some rules docs posted there (and a little more) mostly from Feb Feast and some side-work I did shortly thereafter. I'm pretty sure they're up-to-date.
