hivemind 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2008 This is a list of people and companies in North America that make or sell Novitas-legal latex weapons. Custom Weapon Makers Ateliers Nemesis http://www.ateliers-nemesis.com/ Recommended by: Dave H./hivemind Iron Liege http://www.ironliege..._Smithshop.html (Ensure that when buying from Iron Liege, you purchase the "non-latex" versions of his weapons, not the "hybrid" versions. Kingdoms of Novitas has not tested the "hybrid" versions for legality in our system yet) Recommended by: Dave H./hivemind Additionally, there are some KoN Players who make custom latex weapons. Contact any of the following through these forums: Thunderstave sammythegun Manufactured Weapons Sellers Knighthawk Armory http://www.latex-weaponry.com/ Sellers of Forgotten Dreams, Ex-Caliber, and Eagle Flex latex weapons. Please note that while Calamacil latex weapons are also for sale at this site, some Calamacil weapons will not pass a KoN safety inspection. While we have not outlawed all Calamacil weapons, there is no guarantee that the one you buy will meet KoN safety standards, and each will be individually inspected before entering play. Caveat Emptor. Strongblade http://www.strongblade.com/ Sellers of Calamacil (Conqueror Series) and Palnatoke (Paladin Series) latex weapons. As with the note about Calamacil weapons above, some Palnatoke weapons also do not meet KoN safety standards, and each will be individually inspected before entering play Edhellen Armory http://www.edhellen.com/ Sellers of Forgotten Dreams and Eagle Flex latex weapons. Recommended by: Dave H./hivemind The LARP Store http://www.larp-store.com/ Sellers of Forgotten Dreams and Calamacil latex weapons. Medieval Collectibles http://www.medievalcollectibles.com/ Sellers of Forgotten Dreams latex weapons (seems to carry the entire line). Badger's Den http://www.badgersden.com/Store/ Sellers of Palnatoke latex weapons (caution: some members here have experienced very long shipping and/or restock times from Badger's Den. I highly recommend you call or email them to see if an item is in stock before ordering. Caveat Emptor.)

hivemind 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2008 So I've decided to leap into the business of LARP weapons sales. I'm not making anything, rather I'm going to be selling weaopns from all of the following: Iron Liege Ateliers Nemesis Calamacil Forgotten Dreams Eagle Flex/Depeeka Exports I'm still waiting to hear from Palnatoke. They don't seem to want to answer emails, and I don't feel like calling Denmark. :( But I'll keep working on them. I'll be selling in person at our games and fighter practices, at the MVGC upon appointment, and through a web storefront (that's not up yet, but is coming). I'm not going at this piecemeal. I've got $15,000 in funding available and plan to keep essentially everything from Calamacil, Eagle Flex and Forgotten Dreams in stock once I get running. I'm still working out details with Ateliers Nemesis as to what level of their stock they can give me, but I've worked out a sweet deal with Iron Liege. Iron Liege is making custom, exclusive limited edition weapons for me, and hence - for YOU. They're being made in batches of five, and once those are gone, they'll never be duplicated exactly again. Many of them will have KoN-specific images, iconography or heraldry on them, and they'll also be available as Elven Steel, Silver, Magic and Goblin Iron at your request. The first shipment will include all of the following: 5 pieces, 40"-42" sword, generic medieval styling, basic detail----------------85.00 5 pieces, 40"-42" sword, generic medieval styling, medium detail-----------100.00 5 pieces, 40"-42" sword, generic medieval styling, heavy detail-------------115.00 5 pieces, 40"-42" sword, basket hilted, medium detail-------------------------95.00 5 pieces, 40"-42" katana, basic detail-------------------------------------------140.00 5 pieces, 52"-58" bastard/two-handed sword, medium detail----------------125.00 5 pieces, 40"-42" single bladed war axe, basic detail--------------------------85.00 5 pieces, 40"-42" single bladed war axe, heavy detail-----------------------105.00 5 pieces, 30" double bladed war axe, medium detail--------------------------95.00 5 pieces, 30" sword, generic medieval styling, medium detail----------------60.00 5 pieces, 30" sword, generic medieval styling, heavy detail------------------85.00 5 pieces, 30" wakizashi, basic detail---------------------------------------------60.00 5 pieces, 30" mace/hammer/club/some kind of blunt weapon, basic detail--65.00 Obviously, those prices are not set in stone, but they're pretty darn close to what I can charge. I would expect these weapons to be available in time for the holidays, and expect me to have a truck full at the Feb Feast. :)
Marcus Arcturus Maximus 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2008 sweet i am planning on getting me a twin bladed axe sometime in the near future for grog don't know when but probably around the start of the next season.
hivemind 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2008 I have secured another $8000 of funding, and will shortly have in stock a large pile of Eagle Flex weapons. I also have access to everything else in the Deepeeka Exports catalog. For ideas of what I'm talking about, you can browse here, until I get my storefront up: http://www.deepeeka.co.in/ As soon as I get some income coming back in from the initial expenses, I'll be placing a large order with Forgotten Dreams. Right now, their shipping/transit delays are holding me back from ordering. I just can't have thousands of dollars tied up for two or three months with no product while they get around to shipping, and the stuff worms it's way through customs. In better news, I had a very productive phone conversation with Greg, the owner of Iron Liege. He's agreed to try his hardest to keep the weight down on the weapons he's making for me, and so will be leaving out the weighting and counterbalancing he usually puts in all his weapons. While some people and games like the more realistic weight, I've always been a firm believer that a weapon that is very stiff and very light is a very safe weapon, and so whenever I can, I'll be pushing manufacturers to build lighter and stiffer weapons. Hopefully, this is only my first step. ;) I expect to see my first shipment of the custom Iron Liege weapons arrive in time for Holiday gift purchases, so please keep me in mind if there's someone in your life who needs a rubber sword. Also, I think I've decided on a name for the venture. It's going to be: Hammer & Cox Roleplaying Emporium

I've purposely tried to not order any of their weapons with the cast rubber grips, instead opting for wood or leather-wrapped wood wherever possible. I feel that they handle better and look classier. I suppose at this point, if anyone wanted something specific and not on my list, just let me know. There's still time for a day or two to add it to the order. Rose 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2009 I would consider buying that sweet sweet Rose Rapier from Nemesis Workshops but they don't list the price!
Zander 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2009 That's a custom job they did for a specific client. You can always comission something similar from them but their prices are nothing to laugh at. Their stuff is the best I've seen so it's also a little more understandable.
Vicious the Jester 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2009 Expect to pay somewhere between $400 and $600 for that rapier. They make beautiful stuff and they know it.
Eppe00863 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2009 Hi Dave, Do you have the below weapon in your stocks, or know who might sell it stateside? This vendor was listed as a Forgotten Dreams' distributor... Fey Longsword EDIT: Also, This Rapier looks pretty sexy, from Knighthawk Armory....has anyone had good feeling/bad dealings with them? $150 is a lot to have it be denied for our game ;)
hivemind 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2009 The FD sword is part of one of the new FD collections; I don't know anyone who has them stateside yet, my distributor doesn't. The Rapier is from ArtyFakes in the UK, it's part of a special run done just for Knighthawk Armory. I've never seen or held anything from ArtyFakes before, but I'd expect it to be quite stiff, not designed for the rigors of North American LARP (much like Forgotten Dreams). http://www.artyfakes.co.uk/

Zander 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2011 Have no personal experience with them but when it comes to larp weapons on the internet... You get what you pay for.
Eppe00863 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2011 I think these weapons have to be much more rigid than our game allows for: this hammer below is only 25 inches end to end, weighs a pound, and only costs $20? Somethin ain't right in Denmark. Does anyone know anything about this site? http://www.swordsofmight.com/larp-weapons-latex-swords.aspx
hivemind 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2011 Does anyone know anything about this site? http://www.swordsofmight.com/larp-weapons-latex-swords.aspx OK, I just took a look through their site, and something's super-fishy there. This place is the stereotypical LARP gear site that doesn't list any manufacturers or stats for any weapons, so it's hard to tell what you're getting. A bunch of their stuff is super-cheap, like $20 for a sword, which makes me think they're not suitable for combat. Probably something more akin to a Nerf sword, or what you'd get from a costume shop at Halloween. Other things I recognize, but the prices are all wrong. For example, this: http://www.swordsofmight.com/high-quality-viking-larp-sword.aspx looks JUST LIKE a Calimacil. The blade shape, in particular. But, Calimacil doesn't make a sword like that: http://www.calimacil.com/weapons/shortswords.html and even if they did, the price is off by like 50%. That's below what I pay for wholesale. I suppose it's possible that they've got some sweet deal with Calimacil set up for custom swords at a super-low price, but I don't believe that at all. This thing: http://www.swordsofmight.com/larp-simple-medieval-sword.aspx is probably a Palnatoke Warrior Sword from their "Ragnarok" line (their budget swords), but the pommel's wrong. You can see it here (warning: have to download PDF to see catalog): http://www.palnatoke.com/ It's also too expensive for a Palnatoke - that sword should be $30 or so (and it's not worth that much, IMO). All I'm saying is that I'd want to know exactly what the hell these things are before I bought anything from them. The whole site seems... off. Like they don't know themselves what they're selling. Michael Burnheart 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2011 Kk I just bought one of the 40$ swords (Anduril Larp Sword). I'll bring it to the fp for inspection. Worst comes to it and I can give it to my cousin for a birthday present.
